Neuro Blooms
@ Red Chair Studios (2319 Cherokee) & along Cherokee Street

Neuro Blooms will appear as giant decals of colorful PET brain scans in Cherokee Street storefront windows. Each image will be accompanied by a QR code that provides information (in English and Spanish) about the images, the project, and mental health resources.

The exhibit launch takes place on October 8. At Red Chair Studios, 2319 Cherokee, there will be a real-time art install from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. that includes art made by Peter and Paul Community Services clients. Neuro Blooms coincides with Mental Illness Awareness Week October 2-8 and World Mental Health Day October 10. The exhibition closes Oct. 31.

NWL Opening Reception

The Luminary is pleased to present its fall exhibition nwl, co-curated in collaboration with The Racial Imaginary Institute (TRII). This exhibition emerged from conversations between Stephanie Koch, Interim Executive Director of The Luminary, and Simon Wu, co-curator and Program Manager of TRII, reflecting on the role of white people in dismantling whiteness. Too often, it seems, exhibitions rely on the crucial work of non-white people to critique whiteness. How can white people dismantle white supremacy within themselves and their own communities, and what would that look like in an exhibition format?
